Please report what has happened to you on Trip Advisor. Millions of people read Trip Advisor, and it is a trusted site. Helping prevent anyone else from being defrauded by these ladrones is one small step we can all take. The more reports Trip Advisor gets about this place, the more difficult it will be for Plays de Las Palmas, Miramar, and Bahia Turquesa Residences to continue their illegal activity. Please post your stories at:

George,
Your coincidental story of writing to "Karla" sounds a lot like mind. I have yet to hear from her. I actually think Karla is some sweaty, hairy guy in a tank top sitting in a bar in San Jose with his laptop.

We were in Costa Rica in April 2012 and attended a timeshare presentation by Miramar. We purchased a two bedroom unit for three weeks for 30 years from them. At the same time they offered, through Omnicorp Development, to rent out this property at $2500USD a week for 10 years. They also offered through Omnicorp Development to purchase our two existing timeshare properties. At Omnicorp Development we were dealing with Scott Riggs. Before proceeding we spoke with him several times by phone. We were asked to pay a one off fee of $2150.00 for the Omnicorp Development service. We subsequently spoke with and emailed Scott Riggs several times over the following month as we followed up with paperwork and the progress of our contract. During this time we received proffessional and prompt service and replies.
Since then we have heard nothing. Under the terms of our contract Omnicorp were due to pay us for the two timeshare properties by19th Feb 2013. We have tried to call them a number of times but no one will answer their phones. We finally emailed them and received a standard response saying they were "looking into it". Reading through these bloggs it appears the scam has been going on for a number of years. (wish I had found this before April last year). During this time a number of different company names appear to have been used to rent and sell the timeshare. Omnicorp Development seems to be the latest business set up to scam people. I have followed through and lodged a complaint against Omnicorp with the Illinois Attorney General. I advise as many people as possible to do the same though I doubt we will ever see any of our money.

We paid them $1150.00 to handle the sale of our time share. The good thing is that we paid for it by credit card. As of right now our back has charged Omnicorp back the $1150.00. Normally you have 60 days from the transaction but due to the 300 day guarantee they will go by the contract ending date. Yes Scott Riggs and Omnicorp are conartists. They have to be stopped! I am not giving up on them and Cindy Kidd at Cocosunset Vacation Club. Good luck to you all!

Recently we contacted MasterCard in an attempt to recover the $2,200 which we paid to Executive Properties. Our point of contention was that the services which we paid for were not provided. The claims agent was actually very empathetic and sincere but in the end indicated that there was no recourse due to the elapsed time from entering into the contract. It was very enlightening to learn that there is an "unofficial grace period" of 540 days in which a claim can be filed. This information may be of interest to others who have paid by credit card. Unfortunately, we did not meet the criteria since we thought we would have to wait until EP totally defaulted on their end of the agreement.

I went to ftc.gov today and filed a Federal Complaint against Cocosunset Vacation Club and Cindy Kidd. Please visit the website and file a complaint under consumer complaints. We did get our $1150.00 back from Omnicorp going through our bank. They did recognize the transaction to be fraudulent.

Go to ftc.gov and file a Federal Complaint against these crooks. I filed a complaint today against Cindy Kidd and Cocosunset Vacation Club. I have reported them to BBB and Attorney General. Our bank recognized fraud with Omnicorp and we DID get our $1150.00 processing fee back. These conartist need to be stopped.

Yes, bought into the fractional ownership. Love it and have friends who do the same in other parts of the world. Being a realtor myself in the states, I totally understand the system. We definitely received more bang for our buck and gave up our timeshare/points for much more time in CR, knowing we can trade or rent weeks, or use personally, not to mention use HSI and II - burn weeks & getaways. Learn the system. If you want to sell weeks, one needs to become savvy as there are many companies that can help you rent your week or weeks, at a cost or not. There is some work involved and you can certainly recoup the money you paid for your investment and then make money doing it. One can't sit back and expect others to always take care of it. This is doable and can be very profitable if done correctly. I do not mean to offend anyone. I am all for it.

Not this resort, but I did buy a fractional interest in Playa de Las Palmas in Costa Rica and entered into a contract with Omnicorp Development to rent it. Now I'm in the process of notifying my credit card company regarding Omnicorp being a fraudelent company. Does anyone have a legal reference that there's an unspoken 540 day or 300 days law to pursue disputing this credit card charge in an attempt to refund my money?

Hi Troll, nice to meet you.

I also paid thru a bank transaction and didnt think i could get my money back. What did you do and how quickly did you report this? Because in my case, it been over a year. I had given up. i field a case with the attorney general and never heard from them. I was so disappointed that i just gave up. I appreciate if you can tell me what you did and maybe i can still my money back. Thank you.

We are also victims of Playa de Las Palmas. Report all transactions to your bank. Our bank handed it over to Visa and we did get our $1150.00 planning fee back from Omni after 300 days. Report these conartist to BBB, Federal Trade and any Attorney General you can contact. I have an attorney persuing these crooks also. I will not be paying any maintenance fees anymore. My attorney informed me that it could go against our credit rating but with the all the fraud he doubts they will step forward. He had hired someone to go to their Springfield Illinios office and it does not exist. Cindy Kidd from Playa, Scott Riggs from Omni and I also believe that HSI are all in together on this scam. Good luck and don't give up!

We are very familiar about Costa Rica . I visited Costa Rica last year and I had a great time. If you want to explore the rainforest try Rincon de la Vieja or Manuel Antonio National Park. There you'll find lots of tropical wildlife like monkeys, sloth, crocodiles and amphibians, plus in Rincon there's lots of volcanoes and mud pools etc. We traded into The Palms at Flamingo Beach. They have fractional villas on the beach. The people there were very friendly and Fractional villa in Costa Rica and the whole development and amenities were wonderful.

I was wondering how you got your money back from the bank. I contacted them today and it seems that I will have a lot of difficulty getting the money back because it has been well over a year. Can you tell me which bank and how you did it?
I have also filed with the BBB and Atty's general. The BBB can' find them and its seems that that is it, if they can't be found, nothing happens, have any of you heard from your claims? thank you

As our friendly trolls say above, "This can be very profitable if done correctly." She is so right. This fraud is extremely profitable for Anselmo Baldini and Roberto Mancino, who works for Baldini. This person is insulting all of us. Is Joni actually Cindy Kidd in disguise?
