Interesting about Mr. Allan Dale. He called us last November following our timely termination of our contract with Belaire and said he was from a collection agency representing Belaire. He was very threatening, advising us if we did not pay the balance of our account he would put a lien on our house. I told him to have a nice day and hung up. Never heard from him again.

I was contacted by John Rodiguez, Gloval Vacations Administration. He said he had a buyer for my Belaire property. This buyer was a corporation and would have huge tax benefits. There was no upfront realtors fee (5% upon selling). I sent him a copy of my contract. He then sent me a Resale contract. This contract called for a $5,000 plus processing fee up front which would be refunded upon completion of sale. I concluded this was a scam and told him there would be no up front money. He said he would pass the deal on to someone else. Be warned.

Interesting about Mr. Alan Dale. He called me last Friday (8 days ago) and offered to buy my Belaire property for what I paid plus 70%--believe it or not! Hat would amount to some $70,000! However, all he wanted was about 10% up front for the fees... I said I wasn't interested, unless he was prepared to take the fees out of the proceeds. He wouldn't do this--not surprising. He also told me that the people he was representing were building a casino and planned to make a lot of money. He said they would offer to buy my property in another two years. He said the offer was open till the end of October... Can you believe it? By the way, has anyone following this thread had anyting to do with the Miramar?

When we were in PV last November, we chatted with a couple of the Mexican 'guys on the street' that schedule tours for Belaire & other resorts. They volunteered the advice that Miramar was a scam outfit & that we should steer clear of them. That was the only site that they were so negative about, so we didn't bother to visit. From reading the travails of you who are still fighting Belaire, we're especially glad that we got out with no losses, due to moving fast within Belaire's own contract terms. Don't hesitate to get PROFECO involved, if only so that they have a fat portfolio of cases to harass Belaire with. Good luck to all.

We bought our 1 bedroom emerald at Belaire in 2009. I just got off the phone with Alan Dale of Vacation Management in Las Vegas. He gave me a song and dance about how people had shown up to his office with a baseball bat and hit the bat on his desk. He said he was scared for his life and now has moved into a place away from the public. He told me that the Profeco had now allowed up to 400 people to get their money back and I was now number 4 of the last five that were available for refund. He told me that the $1800 was to pay for fees in mexico and that once I had signed the papers it would take 45-90 days for my money to arrive. Sounds too good to me. He also said that they would pay me $39,900 U.S. (my purchase which was $18,000 (1 bdrm emerald) Twice the amount. Again, it sounds too good to be true. I would like to join in with others against this Belaire/Hotel U/Vacation Management scam. I do want my money back but I am not going to fall into another trap. Also, Steve and Kirby are scum and ripoff artists. Don't trust them. Please send me information on how to get my money back.

Shannona, Who is Steve and Kirby?? It's interesting they are telling you $39,000 for a 1br and our friends were quoted $65,000 for an Exec suite they pd much more than you though. They seem to have all the information on our contracts. I suspect they are calling from Mexico and are at the same location as the resort complex. I called their 800# given to me by Michelle at the U and I got a recording in spanish. How interesting. This whole thing is a scam. Join our group. The email address is above for Ramon.

Steve Henman and Kirby were two sales people from Playa del Sol in Neuvo Vallarta. Sorry I don't remember Kirby's last name but he's a tall blond/reddish haired guy that was working with Steve at PDS and Belaire. If ever you see these two somewhere else, run.... I wish I had followed my instincts and not got sucked in, but I didn't and we're paying for it now... has anyone gotten any money yet?

We have been working with Profeco for a year now. We were told that we were getting most of our money back. Belair's legal represenative has not showed up for our last two hearings with Profeco. This last hearing Profeco fined them for not appearing. We have had at least 4 hearings now and another scheduled for January 2011. I am afraid all of you who are getting together and are filing complaints are in for a long haul as we have been. they would rather get fined than show up for their hearings. They will still come out ahead of the game. Will write after our next hearing in january and let you know how it works out.

I just filed a complaint with Profeco against Belaire Resort and Spa. I e-mailed the form online and attached supporting documents. You seem to have the most information about Profeco and Belaire. What happens now? Is there still a group that wants to get together to file a class action? Would it have been better to file it in person? Any information that you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, Pat

Yes I know a lot about Profeco. I e mailed them the information about Bel Aire and they e mailed me the instructions to follow to procede with the complaint. I followed the instructions and I mailed them all the paper work they requested. I am sure you can do this via e mail but I wanted to certify the mail and have lots of copies of everything. I have also spoken to them on the phone. They go ahead and schedule these hearings. Belaire's legal rep. appeared for the first few hearings and the last two he didn't show up. They fined BelAire for not appearing at the last one. It is just a waiting game. I asked them if they could move up the time between hearings as it takes about two months inbetween. They said they were so bogged down with complaints that it was taking that long to reschedule. I am not optimistic at this point even after they confirmed I was getting my money back. We reached the point of giving Profeco our banking infomation ( which is secure I might add with them,) and were real close to ending this till they started not showing up for these hearings. We are waiting till Jan. now for our next hearing. Profeco is very helpfull but don't know how much or how far they can go.
