Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Using licensedtimeshareresalebrokers.org

Feb 28, 2013

I searched the forums for information on licensedtimeshareresalebrokers.org but no matches come up.

Does anyone have experience with using this route for selling a timeshare?

You will find that almost all timeshares have little or no value at all. Most owners who want to get rid of their timeshares will be glad to give them away and even pay the closing costs. The number one rule is NEVER pay anyone upfront money to sell your timeshare. There are thousands of scammers out there that claim they have buyers. They will take your money and disappear. Try a licensed realtor but don't expect to make money on the deal.

There are licensed timeshare real estate brokers such as Judi Kozlowski but in this economy, as donp mentioned, there are not many timeshares that have value (exception Disney, some Marriotts, 4 Seasons, Hyatt, Hilton and a few other name brands).

Be sure you do not use Pacific Property Transfer out of Torrance, CA. They are terrible and will take years to get your property transferred!

We want to sell our Marriott Timeshare. Do you know if the Red Week new full service is worth $125 listing and their 3% sales fee is worth it or are things just not selling.

It depends on what your expectations are .... most Marriott's still have some value depending on location, resort and time owned .... you could try placing an ad here at Redweek but be aware that you will not get back on the resale market what you paid initially if you bought directly from Marriott.

One more thing .... if you get no response from your initial ad then keep lowering the price .... a timeshare is worth only what someone is willing to pay and the supply and demand of what you have to offer.

Having said that, if you don't want to deal with the hassle of placing your own ad then you might want to consider Redweek's full service.
