Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Where do YOU own in Hilton Head SC and why?

Jun 26, 2009

We are interested in buying a week in Hilton Head, during our kids summer break, and want something on the beach (we are hoping to own a week in HHI in summer, and a week in FL in winter).

We do not golf, have no interest in it at all so that is not a consideration. We want nice, clean, and beachfront. I am not sure where to start, so I would love to hear where YOU own/stay, and the pros and cons about the places.

If you are interested in beachfront only, you can look in RCI and/or II's catalog of resorts which shows beachfront resorts on HHI and how they are rated.

I love HHI and we have been there many times. Not only does HHI have beachfront resorts, but they also have beautiful tropical landscaping throughout the entire island with biking/hiking trails and beautiful golf courses along with alligators in the lakes.

Coligny Circle (the public access to the ocean) has been totally revamped with new landscaping, picnic tables and brick walkways.

HHI is very family friendly, however I can't give you a suggestion on a beachfront resort as we've always stayed inland and either walked, took the trolley, drove our car or ridden bikes to the beach.

We own a week at the Barony 9MARRIOTT)- in the garden section which is a short walk to the beach. Hilton head is a great resort and we would love to sell our week but it is in the winter.

Barony Beach is beautiful, clean, quiet, and very kid friendly. They have just about any amenity you can think of to make you feel as much at home as possible and it is very kid friendly. They offer different daily activities for both kids and adults. My kids looked forward to the new daily activity (arts, crafts, games, etc..) each morning and were never disappointed.

I own a membership at the Owners Club at Hilton Head Island. This is a golf oriented timeshare located in the Indigo Run Plantation on the Island. There are about 44 three bedroom cottages that comprise the development which are fully furnished. Easy access to 278 to get around the island and away from the typical tourist areas. Great location for a relaxing vacation. Membership came with a ClubCorp membership that gives you access to 244 Clubs world wide.... Designed to be an alternative for a vacation home... these memberships include 3 high season 7 day weeks and a 6 day sports season week.

We own weeks 39&40 at Swallowtail At Seapines and Week 42 at Cottages At Shipyard. Shipyard was out first purchase after visiting HHI with some friends. While we were by no means disappointed by the Cottages, we felt there were much nicer places on the island, specifically Seapines. We recently purchased the Seapines back-to-back weeks and couldn't be more happy. That end of the island is simply beautiful and obviously contains Harbor Town. The beach os a 5 minute drive, which is fine with us as we prefer the quiet surroundings.

We'll be exchanging or deposing our Cottages week here at RedWeeks soon!

We exchanged into a Swallowtail unit a few years ago and it was awesome .... one of the most beautiful master bedrooms I've ever seen in a resort .... we also enjoyed watching the golfers from our back patio.

I own a Gold week at Marriott Surfwatch, 2 BR ocean view unit that sleeps 8.

Great location and the beach front pool and bar are nice touches.
