Our first time to Aruba, though we travel a lot and have been to Hawaii many times. Seems most of the negative issues from 2012 listed below have been rectified. Like any property, peak season means you need to compete for resources like chairs (and restaurant seating, and drink service – you’re here in peak season, come on!). That’s the whole island in January. We are here now, winding up our 7 night stay and would definitely return to the Surf Club. A wonderful value for the stay here. 2 bedrooms separated by a common space means the 20-somethings can do their thing while we turn in earlier than they do. Lively spots can easily be found within walking distance. Main tip to new travelers here – – buy your liquor at the duty-free shop at the airport on your way here. MUCH less expensive. I will admit however, that if you don’t want to buy bottles of liquor, the Surf Club happy hour was a good deal, especially when you consider the very generous pours. Overall, loved it. Considering purchasing our own time here, as this travel was on our brother’s ownership here.

We are huge fans of this beautiful island and the Marriott surf club! The staff is wonderful, the resort is clean and location provides many restaurant options, shopping and activities without ever needing a ride. The chair hassles could be improved, but if that’s our only issues, we’ll see you there every year!

Our group of 7 just returned from a glorious week at the Light House Building at the Surf Club in our second owned ocean side villa. We were on the 12th floor in units 2624 & 2622 facing the kite surfers. What a magnificent view! This building is steps from the beach, pools, Hadicurri Restaurant & Moombas! Great location on the site.

We purchased pre construction. Not knowing what to expect, we couldn’t be happier! The place is awesome! We try to get there every year. The pool and water slide is a blast. The lazy river is wonderful and the swim up bar is even better! We play volleyball in the pool or on the beach. There is something for everyone! We do go to the food store just to save on some meals but the restaurants are excellent!! The people are so friendly and helpful. The weather is always beautiful! What more could you ask for! It’s our Happy Place!! Lynda NJ

This is a great place to vacation with family and friends. The staff always is polite, friendly and helpful. We have been coming to this since it opened, we have met many other vacationers who also keep coming back. The weather is always perfect and the local restaurants are excellent. Once you get there all of your tensions are relived and you enjoy your peice of paradise, so enjoy😎

We applied 10 months before to go to Aruba in Feb.. --there was never an opening except for one studio. When is a good time to go weather wise, when not an owner and not in the heart of prime season? How does the Surf Club compare with the Ocean Club?

response to margaretl194 the surf club is probably designed with families in mind, whereas the ocean club is probably preferred by retired folks. beach is more limited at the surf club ( those three towers house a lot of people), so many of the folks hang by the pool. there are washers and dryers inside each unit at the surf club, whereas the ocean club has laundry at the end of each floor. its really a matter of personal taste . we own at both and far prefer to stay at the ocean club. we let our kids have the surf club week. weather is pretty awesome all year long. its a little rainier in october and november, but its not at all a bad time to go. any time is great time in aruba
