Xpu Ha Palace Resort

Would like to hear some comments from someone who has been down here since the reopening after hurricane! Conditions of beach, reefs for snorkeling, etc? Booked in Nov. 07 and have some concerns. Like to snorkel daily, is equiptment always available, or should I bring my own?

XPU-HA is great for those of us who aren't wild and crazy. An awesome jungle setting with it's own mini-zoo! Ask for an upper in the Ocean-Facing Iguana Section.(verify) It was awesome swinging on our balcony hammock or laying on the balcony bed listening to the waves crash. The resort is very spread out, but just grab a ride or a bike!!! Make sure to bring that bike back at night though! (wink,wink) Golf carts cruise around and give you rides or feed you drinks. Food and drink were diverse and plentiful. If you need Wolfgang Puck, go to Vegas or L.A.. If you want a relaxing time in a jungle setting during winter, give XPU-HA a try!

My husband and I were recenly married at the Xpu Ha Palace via their Deluxe Wedding Package. What a marvelous experience it was. The staff is friendly and genuinely interested in making their guests happy. Our wedding was perfect.

The atmosphere is relaxed - no formal attire required for dining at any of the restaurants. We have been to the other Palace resorts (Aventura Spa and Moon Palaces) and prefer the Xpu Ha's natural setting. The resort has so many amenities (kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, nature walks, 2 pools, fabulous beach), we were reluctant to go on any of the included excursions to the local attractions.

Each room has a jacuzzi tub and a private balcony, but we were hardly ever in ours. The resort is quite large, so be prepared to walk a lot (shuttles are available). As active people, we enjoyed this aspect as well.

We just got back and cannot be more thrilled with all that is involved in the XPU-HA experience. This is not your typical resort, it is family oriented with a laid back atmosphere but be prepared to walk because they do use all of the property and with the exception of golf carts for transportation you willl do some walking. Food was great either sit down or buffet, beach is wonderful, snorkeling exceptional, and your room is a cute Tarzan like tree house, not plush but not third world either.....we will go back
